English Story: The Family – Reading

My name is Sarah, and I am twelve years old. I live in a small town with my family. My family is very important to me, and we spend a lot of time together. My father’s name is John, and he is a teacher. He teaches history at the local high school. My mother’s name is Emma, and she is a nurse. She works at the hospital in our town. Both of my parents are very busy, but they always find time to be with me.

I have one brother, and his name is Tim. He is only five years old, but he is very active and always making us laugh. Tim loves to play with toys, especially cars and trucks. Sometimes, I help him build roads for his cars with blocks. Tim is very curious, and he asks a lot of questions. It’s funny because he always wants to know what everything is and how it works.

Our family is close-knit. We eat dinner together every evening, and we talk about our day. My father often tells us interesting stories about the history he teaches in school. My mother talks about the patients she helps at the hospital. Sometimes, I share stories from school, and Tim talks about his day at kindergarten. We laugh, share jokes, and enjoy each other’s company.

We are also very active. On weekends, we often go to the park. My father likes to walk around the park, and my mother enjoys sitting on a bench reading books. Tim and I play soccer or run around. Sometimes, we have a picnic, and my mother makes sandwiches. My father loves to take pictures of us, so we have many photos of our time in the park. It is always a fun day.

We also celebrate holidays together. Last Christmas, we decorated the tree with lights and ornaments. Tim helped by hanging the big red ball ornaments, although they kept falling off! We laughed a lot during that time. My parents are very loving, and I know they always want the best for me and Tim. Our family is not very big, but we are always there for each other, and that’s what matters the most.
